The MakatiMed Department of Psychiatry is devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental conditions.
Specialized medical consultants evaluate the severity of psychiatric symptoms through clinical history-taking and objective screening tools.

Psychiatric Assessment
Established in 2023, the Makati Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry is the first Esketamine Clinic in the country and the second in Asia. The Esketamine Clinic offers an out-patient based treatment for Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD) and Major Depression with Immediate Suicide Intent (MDSI).
Prevention of harm to self and/or others
Recommendation for confinement to the specialized MakatiMed Neuropsychiatry Unit, if necessary
Establishment of individualized psychotherapy options to suit each patient, if appropriate
Stabilization of other medical conditions
Provision of pharmacologic and
non-pharmacologic options to reduce psychiatric symptoms
Provision of psychoeducation for the patient, family and loved ones
Individual recommendation to other sources of support (e.g., therapy groups, social workers, etc.)
